The Alden family was so fun to photograph for this fall Utah family photo shoot. We met up in Emigration Canyon at this stunning lake and just let the kiddos run around and explore. The fall colors were so beautiful, full of yellows and golds and with the sun setting the light made the colors even more vibrant.
This is truly one of my favorite locations for any type of session, but it’s perfect for kiddos. It’s easy to access, has lots of space to run around, and is beautiful all year-round. The rolling hills make this such a unique Utah location and the lake is always the most beautiful shade of blue. This location has a ton of variety and explodes with wild sunflowers in the summer. It’s on my list of 9 unique Utah Locations and is definitely a favorite.
During this family session, we really just let their boys run around and explore. We really wanted to capture their family in a documentary/lifestyle way for their Utah family photos and that made it so much fun. My number one tip when getting your little ones photographed for family photos is to just let them have fun and do their thing! I promise we’ll get way better photos that way, than by asking them to sit and hold a smile. We’ll get their authentic smiles and giggles, and capturing the way they naturally interact with you is so much more fun than awkward half-smiles.
Here are some of my favorites…
